Skip the Tricks with these Maple Halloween Treats

Halloween will be here before we know it, bringing with it spooky celebrations, seasonal gatherings and plenty of opportunities to indulge in something sweet.

While Halloween is of course associated with trick-or-treating, it’s also the perfect excuse to get creative in the kitchen. You’d be surprised at just how versatile pumpkins can be!

From hearty pies to unique desserts, cookies and even smoothies, there’s something for everyone and when you add in a little bit of pure Canadian maple syrup into the mix, there’s unlimited potential for both sweet and savoury fun.

Read on to discover which recipes you can enjoy this spooky season.

Maple Pumpkin Pie

While we all know Halloween is the time for carving shapes into a pumpkin in the hope of creating something that resembles a face, this delicious pie is another great way to make the most of the Halloween staple. This easy recipe combines the earthy flavour of pumpkin with the sweetness of pure Canadian maple syrup. With a smooth, creamy filling encased in a buttery crust, this pumpkin pie is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser for guests, visible (and maybe invisible) alike.

Maple and Cinnamon Halloween Cookies

If you’re looking for an option to hand out to eager trick-or-treaters, these cookies are sure to go down a treat, pun intended. Made with cinnamon, maple sugar and pure maple syrup, they’re a great way to get your sugar fix this Halloween!

Maple-Glazed Roast Pumpkin

Leftover pumpkin? Make the most of it by roasting it with maple syrup to bring out its natural sweetness. Pure Canadian maple syrup adds a sticky, golden glaze and a delicious depth of flavour, turning a simple ingredient into a treat you’ll keep coming back for. Pair with roasts or salads this spooky season.

Pumpkin, Soy Milk and Maple Smoothie

If the roast pumpkin didn’t tickle your fancy, then this smoothie, ideal for any leftover Halloween pumpkin, might. Made with softened pumpkin and blended with soy milk and pure maple syrup, it’s a great option for a brekky on the go. Finish with a handful of pumpkin seeds for a crunchy topping.

Corn, Maple and Butternut Pumpkin Soup

It might be spring when Halloween rolls around, but there’s never a wrong time for a warming soup, in our opinion. Made with puréed butternut pumpkin, sweetcorn kernels, garlic, ginger and pure maple syrup, this is a rich option that you’ll want to come back to time and time again. Trust us.

Happy spooky season!
