Five Recipes to Delight Dad on Father’s Day

Father’s Day is fast approaching, and what better way to show your love for your old man than by preparing a delicious homemade meal?

In this blog, we’ve gathered five of our favourite recipes featuring the rich flavours of Canadian maple syrup, helping you make this coming Father’s Day that extra bit sweeter!

From a sumptuous breakfast in bed to an utterly indulgent seafood dinner, these dishes are sure to delight dad on his big day.

Maple bacon and egg brekky roll

There’s only one way to start Father’s Day, and that’s with a classic bacon and egg roll enjoyed from the comfort of bed!

This mouthwatering creation combines crispy bacon and fried eggs with a luscious maple glaze, all sandwiched between a lightly toasted brioche bun.

The beauty of this breakfast dish is that it requires only a handful of simple ingredients and can be brought to life in under 15 minutes.

After brushing on the maple syrup and while you wait for the bacon to finish cooking, you can fry the eggs, toast the brioche buns and prepare a hot pot of coffee ready for starting dad’s day off right.

Ultimate maple seafood platter

If your dad is a big fan of seafood, there are few dishes likely to go down as well as this immense seafood platter.

Featuring fresh oysters, king prawns, smoked salmon and maple-glazed lobster, this dish boasts some of the very best flavours from the ocean.

Most of the preparation comes from making the sauces, which all draw on the natural sweetness of pure maple syrup.

The dish is also topped with caper berries, lemon wedges and fresh herbs, providing added depth of flavour.

Truly a meal fit for a king, this seafood platter promises to make this year’s Father’s Day one to remember.

Maple lamb pie

For dads that prefer meat over seafood, this hearty lamb pie with tender vegetables is an excellent option.

The recipe sees diced lamb, potatoes and carrots slow-cooked for two hours in a wonderfully rich sauce consisting of red wine, maple syrup and Worcestershire sauce.

Once tender, the filling is spread over light and flaky puff pastry before being baked to perfection in the oven.

If you fancy a challenge, try the hard version of the recipe by preparing the pie without the aid of the pie dish.

Whichever option you pick, a rich and creamy lamb pie with juicy vegetables and a buttery crust is guaranteed!

Maple and macadamia nut cheesecake

No Father’s Day celebration is complete without a dessert, and this no-bake macadamia cheesecake is the perfect way to end the day on a sweet note!

Not only are macadamia nuts used to top the cheesecake, but they also form a key component of the base along with maple sugar and crushed digestive biscuits.

Once the base has been made, the filling is prepared and then poured gently over the base, with the cheesecake then left to set in the fridge for three hours.

If the sweetness from the filling wasn’t enough, the recipe also features its own maple caramel topping, which can either be made with maple syrup or maple spread.

The buttery flavour and characteristic crunch of the macadamia nuts blend perfectly with the sweet flavour and velvety texture of the filling.

Maple rum balls

Looking for a light dessert with a boozy twist? These rum balls are great fun to make and serve as an excellent after-meal treat.

These bite-sized delights are a mixture of blended biscuits, condensed milk, desiccated coconut, maple syrup and rum.

After setting in the fridge for an hour, the mixture is rolled into small balls about an inch in size, ready to serve.

The bold flavour of the dark rum works well with the sweetness of the maple syrup and the subtle spice from the cinnamon.

For an added touch of elegance, package these rum balls in a small gift box, ready for presenting to dad on Father’s Day.

Happy Father’s Day!
