Spicy Maple Margarita

Ingredients
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 tsp Tajin
- ⅖ cup fresh lime juice
- 2 green chillies, thinly sliced
- 2 lime slices
- ⅖ silver tequila
- 4 tbsp pure maple syrup (preferably amber syrup for its rich taste)
- Crushed ice, to serve
- Extra green chillies and sliced limes to garnish
Method
For the salt rim garnish:
- Combine salt and Tajin powder in a shallow bowl.
- Run the lime slices around the outside of the two tumblers, then dip into the salt-Tajin mixture.
- Set aside while you make the margarita.
To make the margarita:
- Add the lime juice, chili, tequila, and maple syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously until the shaker is ice-cold to the touch.
- Strain into the prepared glasses, add fresh ice and garnish with extra chillies and limes.
This spicy maple margarita recipe has a delicious kick and is the perfect balance between sweet and spicy. If you like the classic marg, and aren’t afraid of a little chilli, this recipe will be right up your street. You can just use regular salt for the rim if you don’t have Tajin, but we think adding the Mexican seasoning to the glass rim is the perfect finishing touch.
