With the silly season in full swing, we’ve gathered a few delicious and classic recipes made with Canadian maple syrup that will make your Christmas Day feel extra special!

From maple-glazed ham to Moreton Bay buys and watermelon margarita recipes, these Christmas dishes and celebratory drinks will appease the whole table this festive season.

Maple-Glazed Ham

A showstopping centrepiece dish is the maple-glazed ham, glistening with pure maple syrup. Impress your family and friends this Christmas Day with a 5-kilogram ham crosshatched, baked and glazed with a mix of pure dark maple syrup, ginger, tarragon, cinnamon, fennel, pepper, chilli powder and salt to taste.

Remove the ham from the oven and brush generously with the maple glaze, allowing the mixture to seep deep into the meat before cooking for another 30 minutes until the glaze is a crispy, golden brown. Wait 10 minutes after letting it rest and voila! Enjoy this recipe fresh on the day and eat it as cold leftovers for the rest of the holiday season.

Oysters Kilpatrick with Maple Dressing

Start your Christmas Day feast with the oysters Kilpatrick with maple dressing starter! Treat your loved ones to some freshly shucked oysters with an irresistible dressing poured over the top. Made from Worcestershire sauce, pure maple syrup and tabasco, these oysters will be the star of the show.

Finely chop up bits of bacon into thin strips, before cooking until it’s crisp. Once each oyster is nestled into a decent amount of salt or ice on a serving plate and topped with maple dressing and bacon, gently place the dish in the oven for under 10 minutes until the sauce starts to bubble. Serve to your guests with a fresh slice of lemon on the side.

Moreton Bay Bugs with Maple Garlic Butter

What screams a classic Aussie Christmas more than an indulgent dish of Moreton Bay Bugs? The star of this dish is the maple garlic butter spread on each of the boiled Moreton Bay Bugs, elevating this dish to a divine and flavoursome recipe!

After boiling the bugs, transfer these to cold water to split the bugs open and discard the innards before making the special maple garlic butter. Gather garlic cloves, pure maple syrup, finely chopped flat-leaf parsley and salted butter and mash these together before spreading a tablespoon on each of the bugs and cooking in the oven for under 10 minutes. Enjoy as an additional starter to your Christmas Day feast!

White Maple Sangria

Perfect for sharing this festive season is the white maple sangria jug, an idyllic summer drink to enjoy with your guests! This is an easy and simple recipe consisting of fresh fruit including fresh blueberries, limes, peaches, oranges, apples and strawberries placed into your desired sharing jug before adding the cocktail mixture.

Add chilled white wine, pure maple syrup, fruit-flavoured liqueur and peach juice and stir before topping the drink with sparkling or soda water and plenty of ice! Swap the wine for an alcohol-free bottle to make this the perfect mocktail for the whole family.

Maple Watermelon Margarita

Perfect for sipping under the sun, this tasty maple watermelon margarita will cool you down this Christmas Day. Made from fresh watermelon, tequila, lime juice, pure maple syrup and orange juice, this cocktail is bound to have your friends and family coming back for more.

Mix salt and paprika and dip the edges of your short margarita glass into the salt blend for taste before adding the cocktail mixture, a lime wedge and a sprinkle of chilli powder for decoration.
